Year-by-Year Curriculum Breakdown
Year 1: Foundations of Fashion Design
Orientation Week: Begin your journey with a week-long orientation dedicated to integrating international students. Participate in campus tours, meet fellow students and faculty, and engage in workshops that introduce you to French culture and the architecture of Paris.
Foundations of Fashion Design courses
Design Techniques
Students learn garment design fundamentals, including sketching, flat drawing, and trend board creation.
Technical Skills
Training in molding, flat cutting, pattern-making, grading, and assembly.
Fashion History and Culture
Overview of fashion evolution, iconic designers, and textile culture.
Practical Application
Creation of capsule collections, personal portfolios, and study pieces to establish foundational skills.
Year 2: Production Techniques and Advanced Design
Collection Development: Design and production of a capsule collection reflecting current trends and cultural influences.
Technical Mastery: Practice with advanced techniques in molding, textile creation, and pattern development.
Market Awareness: Focus on understanding fashion trends and their commercial impacts.
Professional Portfolio: Development of technical sheets, textile patterns, and mood boards.
Year 3: Professionalization and Final Project
Capstone Project: Guided by industry mentors, students develop a personal brand and achieve a final collection showcased in an end-of-year fashion show with over 1,500 attendees.
Lookbook and Presentation: Creation of a professional lookbook and portfolio.
Final Examination: Presentation to the Professional Council for Fashion, validating readiness for the industry.
